Sharon Jurs

Sharon L. Jurs, CPA, has more than 20 years of public and private accounting experience.

Sharon began her career in public accounting (certified since 1995) and has experience at the senior manager, manager, in-charge and staff level for a variety of audit engagements including closely held entities, not-for-profit organizations and large governmental entities.  Sharon is proficient in analyzing internal controls and has extensive experience in contract auditing and compliance as well as developing and or auditing indirect cost rates.  Sharon’s public accounting experience includes extensive small business consultation, bookkeeping, tax planning and tax preparation.

After 13 years of public accounting, Sharon spent three years as a Director of Finance and Administration for a local not-for-profit organization.  Her responsibilities included managing all business office functions, including Human Resources and General Administration of the Association.  Sharon was also responsible for preparing and monitoring the Association’s annual operating budget, directing activities to maintain cash flow and monitoring the investment portfolio.  Sharon reviewed all contractual agreements, monitored results of operations and made recommendations for improved profitability over the Association’s programs.

Upon leaving the not-for-profit organization in 2010, Sharon joined Free Form Fibers, LLC as Controller. She is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting functions of Free Form Fibers which includes internal financial statement preparation, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, grants billing and management, indirect cost rate preparation, human resources and general business administration.

Sharon received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of New York at Albany as well as an A.S. in Business Administration from Hudson Valley Community College (Academic Honors from both colleges).  She is a member of the AICPA and member of the NYSSCPA Chief Financial Officer Committee.
